Balsam Mountains
Located in the heart of Haywood County, the Balsam Mountains are a sub range of the Blue Ridge Mountains and are ideal for hiking and experiencing the great outdoors. The Balsam Mountains have more than seven forest types, due to the variety of elevations, ranging from bogs found at lower elevations to spruce-fir on Balsam Knob peaking at 6,410 feet. Adventure and exploration are sure to be found in the scenic crests of these western North Carolina Mountains.
